  • The Kimes Ranch Competition Award Fund provides cash awards for youth exhibitors at the AQHYA World Championship Show. These awards recognize achievements in Level 3 classes and select judging and speech contests. 
  • The 2025-2026 AQHYA Officer & Director Applications were due June 1st, 2025. 
  • Four domestic grants ($500 each) and eight international grants (up to $2,000 each) are offered by AQHYA to assist in offsetting travel expenses for those wanting to attend YES. 
  • Junior Master Horseman is a book series that uses activities to teach youth all about horses. There are three levels with several chapters in each varying in topic and comprehension. 
  • Racing enthusiasts are challenged to learn about Quarter Horse Racing and test their knowledge on an online test known as the Racing Skillathon Contest. The contest is free and open to anyone in the world; AQHA membership is not required and there are no age restrictions.
  • AQHYA Members & Non-members, ages 10-18 can attend the Youth Excellence Seminar

“Ride The Future” Contest Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

  1. INTRODUCTION:  The Ride The Future Contest was developed by 2024-2025 AQHYA Executive Committee Member Adrianna Goolsby to increase  awareness of youth programs and opportunities available through AQHYA. It is being conducted with adult oversight from Heather Goolsby (Sponsor). This contest is not administered by American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), or any of the associated state affiliates.  
  2. ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open only to legal U.S. residents of the fifty (50) states and the District of Columbia. The contest is void outside the area stated herein. Contestants need to be 13 years old or older to participate.  Contestants do not have to be members of the AQHA or associated state affiliates. 
  3. CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest will begin at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on July 1, 2025, and ends at 9:00 p.m. ET on July 31, 2025. 
  4. HOW TO ENTER: During the Contest Period, a daily trivia question will be posted on the Ride The Future page of the AQHYA Region 5 website. Around 9:00 a.m. ET,  a multiple choice question will be posted  for at least 12 hours. Contestants will click on the link, answer the question, then complete and submit the entry form in its entirety. Entries must be submitted between 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. ET on the same day the question was posted. All contestants may only submit one answer a day. Entry information including names and emails  will only be used for this contest and to contact the daily winners.  The answer to the question will be publicly posted on the AQHYA Region 5 website on the following day. 
  5. WINNER SELECTION & IDENTIFICATION: The winner will be drawn from a pool of eligible entries. To be eligible, the entry information must be complete, contain the correct answer, and submitted by an individual only once.  The winner’s first name, last initial and state will be posted on the AQHYA Region 5 website and social pages on the next day unless the winner has indicated that they want to remain anonymous;  then the winner will  be identified as "anonymous" and by their state. The winner will also be contacted directly via email on the Friday after the selection of their entry. If a winner does not reply to the email within 10 business days, the said winner will forfeit their prize. If the winner is a minor, a guardian will be asked for written permission before receiving the prize box. The contest, winner selection, and all prizes are conducted under the guidance of  the Sponsor,  all Sponsor decisions are final.  
  6. PRIZE: Each deemed daily winner will receive one adult sized Ride The Future t-shirt and an AQHYA Region 5 frisbee in the mail.. Requested t-shirt sizes are not guaranteed. Due to mailing times and geographic distances, prize boxes may arrive 7-14 business days after the winner has provided their shipping address.  Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee. Winners may not request a cash substitute or transfer. Limit one (1) prize per person.
  7. CONDITIONS:  AQHYA Region 5 is not responsible for any expenses incurred by participants in connection with participating in the Contest.  By submitting an answer to the trivia question(s), each participant agrees to be bound by these Contest Rules.  Any decisions related to the Contest, the Contest rules and Conditions, the operation of the Contest, the Contest  prize(s) and the qualifications and eligibility of any participant are at the sole discretion of Sponsor and are final. Each Contestant agrees to release and hold the AQHYA Region 5, the Sponsor, officers, directors, and/or representatives harmless from any and all damages, losses, claims, and liabilities arising out of their participation in the Contest or resulting from accepting or claiming any prize awarded hereunder. The Sponsor  reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, suspend, or otherwise cancel the Contest  at any time for any reason or no reason.
